Professional Digital Photography & Lighting Equipment

Below you will find a highlight list of my current and commonly used gear for getting things done. I have been a Sony fan for most of my life so when I decided to get serious about photography it was an easy decision for me to go Sony. Even though it’s not the most popular brand among most other photographers I am very happy with most every aspect of their professional digital camera gear. I especially like the sharp and fast G series and Zeiss glass as well as the full frame A900 body. Having experience in web design and development made my post production tool and workflow decisions simple. It’s all Adobe. I am currently using Lightroom 3 to manage my photo libraries, DxO Optics Pro for my RAW conversions, and Creative Suite 5 for everything else.
I perform all of my digital post production on a custom built PC that is powered by an Intel® Core™ i7 processor and 12GB of DDR3 1600 RAM. Dual Dell 30″ LCD monitors provide me with the ample screen real estate necessary for working with the A900′s 24.6MP RAW files. Local storage happens on a 300GB 10,000RPM Western Digital® Raptor hard drive and I keep all of my image files backed up daily to a 4TB Western Digital® ShareSpace configured in RAID5 for redundancy. Archived shoots are additionally backed up to Blu-Ray disc and stored off site to help ensure that no images are ever completely lost. It’s not a perfect system but it’s one that I’m comfortable covers most potential hardware failures.
