With Christmas now only a couple of days away I’m wrapping things up for 2009 and taking the next couple of weeks off so I can enjoy spending some time with friends and family for the holidays. I won’t be putting my camera gear away though because this Christmas will be Emmy’s first and I …
[b]ecker Workshop
This past Saturday I was one of the fortunate photographers who got to spend the day with Chris Becker…ahem…I mean [b]ecker…as he visited CanadaLand Calgary for the first time with his aptly named workshop “Crash Course in Kickin’ A$$”. Becker is a very well known and very successful wedding photographer from Orange County down in …
A New Addition
And so it begins. A new chapter in my life. A new journey for my wife and I…and our dog who, considering she’s hardly been outside the house for two weeks, is coping exceptionally well. It feels like I’ve already taken more pictures than can possibly be necessary although necessity hardly seems like an appropriate …

Contemporary Framed Prints
For the past 3 or 4 weeks I have spent an inordinate amount of time searching for suppliers of various components and materials that I need to mount, mat, and frame large prints. After hitting seemingly endless dead ends with some of Calgary’s local art suppliers I decided that I would need to take my shopping list online if I wanted to find the things I was looking for. In the end I was able to locate everything I needed and after placing a half dozen product orders to suppliers in both Canada and the United States boxes slowly began arriving on my doorstep this week. Acid free foam core backs and conservation single mats, frame sealing tape, buffered hinging tape, frame backing paper, and a handful of other essential components and tools. Everything individually selected to be of the finest quality and provide the safest long-term solution to displaying my custom artwork for my clients.
Now Printing
The printer that you see in the image above is an Epson Stylus Pro 3800. It’s the latest addition to my image making arsenal and it allows me to produce all of my prints in-house from 4″ x 6″ proofs all the way up to awe-inspiring 17″ x 22″ prints that are ready for mounting and hanging the wall. I’d been wavering over what to do for the last couple of months when it came to making a decision on which printer I would purchase. However, after seeing the results that this printer is capable of producing I’m confident that I made the right decision. The print quality is absolutely stunning.
