Fall

Landscape photograph of fall trees with a clear reflection in the lake

I haven’t had a lot of time to spend behind my camera or in front of my computer over the last seven weeks since Emmy was born. But with things around the house starting to settle into what slightly resembles normality I spent some time tonight editing some photos that I took near the end of September. I’m lucky to live so close to this amazing park in Calgary which is so picturesque especially during fall as the leaves begin to change on all of the trees.

Sam and I walk our dog here a couple of times a week during the summer months and lately we’ve been bringing Emmy along in her stroller. Soon though the lake will be frozen over with ice and it will be too cold to enjoy walking anywhere so instead I’ll look forward to going back next year. Emmy will still be in her stroller but maybe instead of sleeping the whole time she’ll stay awake and enjoy the view.

“There is a harmony in autumn, and a luster in its sky, which through the summer is not heard or seen, as if it could not be, as if it had not been!” Percy Bysshe Shelley

The photo was taken at ISO 200 with a 16-35mm f/2.8 lens at 35mm and f/4.0 for 1/4000 sec then converted from RAW and post processed in Photoshop CS4.
